Background
Bill started his career in industry before moving to professional services in the mid 90’s.  He has been a partner in three large firms including 10 years at PwC where he successfully led a large practice in the North.  Whilst at PwC, Bill was one of a handful of UK partners invited to be part of the “Partner Coaching Partner” programme.  This involved coaching partners and directors across the firm, as a means of improving individual and business performance.  In 2013 he was the only UK partner in a team of six partners globally to act as a mentor for Genesis Park, a residential development programme for PwC top global talent on the brink of partnership.  

Qualifications
Bill has attained a Certificate in Professional Coaching from Henley Business School. Prior to that and whilst at PwC, he underwent considerable coaching training over a 10 year period, including regular supervision and ongoing professional development.

Experience and credentials
Bill’s many years as a professional services practice leader and senior business advisor combine with his natural people skills to make him a highly effective and respected coach.  He specialises in coaching leaders through periods of personal transition, typically whilst they are also responsible for leading ambitious business transformation.

Drawing on his own extensive leadership, business and consulting insights, Bill works with senior leaders to uncover and address the crucial and potentially uncomfortable issues on executive agendas.  A supporter of all aspects of diversity, his coaching approach focuses on an individual’s strengths, often with a view to developing and amplifying positive distinctiveness.

Specifically, Bill has worked with his clients on facets of their leadership including engagement, communication, motivation and confidence.  In addition to one on one coaching he has also worked with boards and senior leadership teams to improve their effectiveness and make them truly high performing.
